23rd April

Happy Ukrainian Easter! This is a big weekend in Ukraine. We have been invited out for some meals and have really enjoyed this lovely little ‘bit of normality’!
Tomorrow will be a busy day and we expect large numbers attending the meetings.
The assembly here is 20 years old tomorrow. We have so much to be thankful for as we look back and thank God for all His goodness over the years!

Just received this email from the UK government...
"…The Russian invasion of Ukraine is ongoing, with attacks against a number of major cities. There is a real risk to life.

We advise British nationals to leave Ukraine immediately if you judge it is safe to do so. Ukraine’s airspace is closed…"

We feel that the Lord would have us stay here with the believers and all of our friends. We are happy to be where God wants us and we just trust Him for everything. He is faithful!

Please keep praying.

Great to see the transformer for the orphanage almost ready after 3 long years!! It’s a must for the renovated building as we need to increase our power supply.
Another very busy day at the hall with so many people in for soup and hot meals. Marianna, Ira and Lera were kept going all day!
We got the small store cleared up and we are ready for a new delivery of boxes from the main store on Monday.
Please keep praying.

21st April

Good to have had another busy but encouraging Thursday. A lot of aid was given out from the aid store along with food bags. Many came in to have their hot meal and dining areas were full. We were at the large store, it’s getting more empty looking but still plenty of boxes to go through and distribute.
Had a quick trip to the orphanage too to see the floor of the ground floor started and the heated flooring getting laid. Work is progressing well. Tiles arrived for the ground floor and the basement today.
This evening we had our hymn singing and Prayer meeting. Good to see so many with us. We gave food bags to everyone present.
Then we all enjoyed a delicious chicken curry made by Marianna, Ira & Lera.
A huge thank you again to everyone for all the hard work.
Just before the meeting started the sirens were sounding again.
Please keep praying.

20th April

We were all kept busy today again. Got more food bags packed. Lots of aid was given out from the aid store and many were fed at the hall. Lots of boxes were sorted today as well.
The 2 emergency response units arrived today. Was quite a job to get them off the lorry but they are amazing! They were packed full of aid too. We would like to sincerely thank Boss Cabins, especially Sarah and Nicky, for these brilliant units and also for all the aid. Everything is so useful.
One unit is now in a refugee camp and the other one is going to the mayor for the local community.
We are so thankful to everyone who is helping from abroad and those helping us here.
War sirens are sounding tonight so we pray we have a peaceful night.
Please keep praying.

Thankful for another busy but good day. Some of us had the privilege of meeting the mayor this morning. Such a lovely man. Then it was back to work!! We got more food bags ready to distribute and more clothing plus food bags were given out to families from our aid store.
At present there are approx 50,000 refugees in our town. The kitchen was really busy all day too. Many came in and enjoyed a hot meal, tea and coffee. We also were asked if we could help a very needy town which has suffered dreadful bombardment and atrocities. What a privilege to send 1 car and 2 van loads of aid to those dear people who have suffered so much. Thank you to all who have helped in any way to make this possible. God has been so good to us here and it’s such a delight to be able to reach out and help those in deep need.
Please keep praying.

Another busy start to this working week! We got one store at the hall almost cleared of boxes and items sorted. Many people came to get clothes and food bags from the other store today. We are making up food bags now every day to distribute with the clothes. The kitchen was extremely busy too. Huge thanks to everyone for working so hard! Poor Pasha sprained his ankle today. Daniel, who is blind, worked, massaged and bandaged it. He’s amazing. Pasha got x-ray so has been told to rest. Great to see that boxes of aid collected here 10 days ago have arrived at the front line where there is such a great need. Many many thanks to all who donated this great aid. A town a couple of hours from us was bombed early this morning. It’s so sad - more lives lost and many injured.
Please keep praying.

31st March

Another busy day but very encouraging meeting so many lovely people. We have rented 10 new billboards near the hall, each with a Bible verse, meeting times and offer of free meals to kids, pensioners and refugees. Great to see the response from these. Both dining areas were full today. Met some lovely people who have come through horrific experiences in the East. We can’t even begin to imagine. Getting some boxes of aid sorted every day too in the stores.

We had a lovely time of hymn singing before our Prayer meeting tonight. Grandmother Tanya can’t get out to the meetings now as she has mobility problems. We called her tonight during the meeting and we all sang her favourite hymn. Great to see so many out tonight and we all enjoyed a tasty meal of pasta and chicken afterwards, thanks to Marianna and Ira. We were warned to stay away from the town centre today due to bomb threats but thankfully everything is still quiet. Please keep praying.

Back to apartment after an encouraging day with Breaking of Bread meeting followed by ministry when Sergei spoke on Moses and what we can do for God. Sunday school was smaller as kids are abroad or in villages. Anatoly spoke well in the Gospel. Olga made us all a delicious meal of rice and garlic mince with pickled cucumber. Great to see so many new faces with us today. Yesterday missiles landed in a town about 2 hours from here and caused a lot of damage, injuring some people. Last night war sirens were sounding a lot in our town. 3 or 4 missiles were fired about 20 mins from here. 2 were shot down and others exploded. Sergei saw and heard the explosions. Thankfully no-one was injured. Please keep praying.
